SUNSET

Kythnos is known for her steep hills, and our plot couldn’t be an exception.
With the sun setting right in front of us and rising from behind, we had to bring the day light in the house and protect it from the harsh sun while it is going down. At the same time we wanted to hide from our view the surrounding buildings and focus on the breathtaking landscape in front of us while protecting it from the north winds as well. The proximity to the sea is definitely a plus to this plot.
We incorporated to our study underground and over the ground buildings providing privacy to the rooms, while opening the living room and kitchen to the exterior, creating a beautiful communication between interior and exterior spaces, thus enlarging the common spaces during summer.
