This project had a very interesting difficulty during its construction.
The Plot is right in front of the sea and the ground level is on -1. To explain, 0 is the level of the sea, so -1 is below that. In order to construct a house, you have to first create the foundation, by digging. In this case, digging meant finding a huge amount of seawater, which obviously troubles the construction. For this reason we decided to create first a reverse “swimming pool”. Reverse, because instead of keeping the water in, in our case it was keeping the water out. During its construction we had water pumps working non stop, to extract and remove the water and give us the chance to create this concrete base, inside of which we would build the house.
So this house is literally placed inside a huge empty swimming pool.
